FINAL INSPECTION

After installing the new Core in the Toaster the Authorized Service Technician should check operation to insure a quality repair.

1. APPEARANCE - Carefully inspect the Top and Bottom of the Toaster, all Sides and Controls for cleanliness. Remove any soil or dust with a mild soap solution.

2. FASTENERS - Be sure that all Phillips Screws are tight and seated properly. Also confirm that the Tabs of the Stainless Steel Cover are penetrating the Slots of the new Toaster Core.

3. LIFT LEVER - Be sure that the Lift Lever is securely screwed into the Lift Mechanism Retainer and that there is no binding.

4. - CONTROLS - Verify that the On/Off Switch and the Shade Control are properly alligned and not binding. NOTE: The toast cycle time will be shorter immediately after an initial cycle has been completed as shown below with no bread in the slot.

 Following "5" 1 min - 40 sec +-10 sec

5. - CRUMB TRAY - Don't forget the Crumb Tray. Check for cleanliness and be sure it is positioned in the Slot correctly.

6. OPERATION - Plug the Toaster into a 3-Prong Grounded Receptacle to test operation. You will now need (6) slices of fresh white bread. You will be toasting a single slice in Shade Control Settings #1 - #6 - #9 in the RIGHT Slot. This test toasting results will confirm that the Shade Control is functioning. Record these as 1A - 6A and 9A.

IMPORTANT - When you turn the On/Off Switch clockwise, the Indicator Light will come on for the entire toasting period. When the toasting period ends the Indicator Light will shut off.

Repeat the single slice toasting procedure except change to the LEFT Slot. and Record these slices as 1B - 6B - 9B. This test will confirm that the (2) Toaster Slots are balanced and that toasting results are consistent.

RESULTS - The photo above illustrates what you should expect from your test.

SHADE SETTING #1 - The toast will retain all of its white color, but will have a distinctive thin crust over the surface. The bread will have a soft texture on the inside.

SHADE SETTING #6 - The toast will have a light brownish color that will vary with the slices loaf geometry. The bread will have a soft texture on the inside and the crust on the surface of the toast will be thicker.

SHADE SETTING #9 - The toast will have a dark brownish color that will vary with the slices loaf geometry. The bread will have a crisp texture on the inside and the softness of the bread will be minimal.

FINAL - After the Operational Test is complete remove the Crumb Tray and remove any remnants from the test. Repackage the Toaster for return to the customer.
